An International Tabletop Day event

It's Back, Just Smaller

Greetings fellow gamers!

I’ve got good news and bad news. Good news, Discover Tabletop will happen this year (Yay!). Bad news, it’s going to be a bit smaller then years passed (aww ☹). EZ Gamer has once again graciously offered to let us meet in their store. However, the store moved to a new location last year and we won’t have as much room as we did last time in 2015. For that reason I haven't been advertising the event as much this year and I’m not organizing any game tournaments. This is just going to be a very chill gaming get together. Btw, that also means no all you can eat $5 pizza.

I understand this scaling down is going to bum some people out, as it does me as well, but if you’re still interested in playing some tabletop games in a really relaxed atmosphere, I encourage you to come by EZ Gamer on Saturday, April 29th, 12:00PM - 8:00PM.

PS. I wont have the full library of games with me (again, space), but if you are planning on showing up and would like to play a particular game, feel free to email me what you would like to play and I'll try and bring it.

Got Space?

Hey everyone,

I would like to not be done with hosting bigger gaming events. So if you have access to or know of a good sized space that would make a good venue for a future Discover Tabletop event, Please let me know. Drop the details in an email and send it to discovertabletop@gmail.com.

Space Requirements:

Size - The venue needs to be able to hold 60 – 100 people comfortably.
Furniture – Existing tables and chairs is preferred but I’m willing source my own if I can get space cheap enough.
Cost – As this is a free community event that I’m not making any money off of, Free is preferred, but I’m willing to pay a small rental fee.

2nd Annual International Tabletop Event, April 18th, 2015

It has been nearly a year since approximately 40 people gathered together in Columbus, NE for an epic day of making new friends and playing games, so it's time to announce the 2nd annual "Discover Tabletop", an International TableTop Day event!

Other than gathering the largest group of gamers we can that want to have an AWESOME 12 hour tabletop gaming session, this event has 2 primary goals. The first is to help as many people as possible Discover the wide and wonderful world of Tabletop gaming. From the complete non-gamer to those who have only traversed the ‘video realm’, we have people ready and excited to introduce you to the entertainment medium of Tabletop gaming.

The second goal is to help you, new and veteran gamers alike, discover your local gamming community. We want all the gamers who want to “play more games” but don’t have a group to play with, or want to expand their group, to show up and discover more like-minded individuals.

While International TableTop Day is the 11th of April this year, we unfortunately had to postpone the event to the following Saturday (18th) due to some scheduling conflicts. However, we are very excited to be hosting the event at EZ Gamer this year. Shawn Mohrmann, Owner of EZ Gamer, has graciously offered to host Discover Tabletop at his store. This gives us much more space and just a much better location over all then we had last year. It's going to be AWESOME!

So if you're still not sure you want to come check out the event, let me lay out the other reasons why you should:

It's FREE! That's right, there's no charge for the event.
$5 Pizza! While there is no charge for the event, if you would like to eat there rather than leave for food, we will be bringing in pizza. $5 gets you all you can eat pizza and soda, ALL DAY! What a Deal!
Prizes! We will have some tournament action you can partake in for a chance to win free stuff. There may even be a raffle. Stay tuned for details.
Games, Games, Games! We have a literal mountain of games that are just waiting to be played. I'm certain that we will have something of interest for everyone.
